Guess The Password is a free hacker puzzle game. In each level you play a social engineer who has to crack a fictional person's password. You get no brute force and no lucky dice: just their psychological profile, a pile of intercepted evidence and your own deduction.

Crack the target's password in as few guesses as possible. There are 20 levels, from easy warm-ups to expert targets who plant fake clues. Cracking a level unlocks the next one.
Every level opens with a profile of the target: who they are, what they love, what they're afraid of and how they think. People build passwords out of what matters to them, such as pets, partners, teams, birthdays, hobbies and catchphrases, so the profile tells you what kind of password to look for.
Next come the intercepted artifacts: chat logs, social media posts, sticky notes, search history and more. This is open-source intelligence (OSINT). Cross-check the evidence against the profile, because the password is usually hiding where the two overlap: a name that comes up in a chat, a year that matters in a post, a habit the profile warns you about.
Type your guess. The game splits the real password into parts, such as words, numbers and symbols, and grades each part of your guess separately, a bit like Wordle:
Capitalization and spaces don't count. You crack the password when every part is right.
Some targets protect their account with a 2FA PIN. Crack the password and you still have to work out the PIN from the evidence before the account is yours.
| Guesses | Stars |
|---|---|
| 3 or fewer | ★★★ |
| 4 to 6 | ★★ |
| 7 or more | ★ |
You start with 3 hint points. Only a three-star crack earns more: 1 point on easy levels, 2 on medium, 3 on hard and 4 on expert. Spend hint points on intel hints (each extra hint on a level costs one more point than the last) or on the hacker toolkit.
| Tool | What it does | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Port Scanner | Reveals each part's type and length | 1 |
| Phisher | Reveals the first character of the password | 1 |
| Scrambler | Shows all the correct characters in random order | 2 |
| Validator | Scans an artifact to check whether it's genuine | 2 |
In the harder levels, not every artifact is real. Some targets plant red herrings to throw you off. When a clue looks too convenient, scan it with the Validator or test it against the profile before you build a guess around it.
Yes. All 20 levels are free to play in your browser and in the Android app.
No. Every target is a fictional character and every password is made up. The game shows why passwords built from personal details are easy to guess, which is a good reason to use a password manager in real life.
You only pick a hacker alias. The game makes an account for you automatically, with no email or password needed, so your progress and leaderboard place are saved.
